The What If’s and What About’s
Here are some questions we’ve been asked in the past. If you can’t find your answer here, please send us your question, and we’ll respond right away!
For Buyers
What can I purchase at WeeUsables?
Our sales offer a unique variety of gently used maternity, baby, and children’s merchandise including clothes (preemie to kids size 16), toys, strollers, bikes, books, bouncy seats, children’s games, videos/DVDs, nursery items, furniture and much more! Our What to Sell page has a complete list of unacceptable items.
Why is WeeUsables better for me than a yard sale?
First, we offer a better quality and variety of goods (and ensure the safety of our shoppers) thanks to our restrictions on acceptable items and our requirement to check the Consumer Products Safety Commission recall list. Additionally, our merchandise is centralized in one location, so there’s less walking or driving for you. Plus, our sale is held indoors, rain or shine … and not at 5AM!
Who qualifies as a “new mom or grandparent” for the special early shopping time?
To qualify as a new mom or grandparent, you must first be registered. Click here to register. “New moms” are either currently pregnant or have a baby UNDER one year old the month of the sale.
Why should I consider volunteering at WeeUsables?
Since we need lots of volunteers to help run our sale, we offer lots of exciting benefits for getting involved—like exclusive early access to shopping! Click here for more information.
What methods of payment are accepted?
![]()
WeeUsables accepts cash, Pennsylvania-addressed check (with drivers license), MasterCard, Discover, and Visa.
A $35 returned check fee will be applied.
What’s the fine print on my purchases?
WeeUsables will only offer quality and safe items. However, we are not liable in any way for items that are purchased at the sale. WeeUsables is not responsible for the misuse of items, any item damages, injuries sustained at the sale event, or injuries from items purchased at the event. All sales are final. It is the buyer’s responsibility to check that all toys and clothing items are satisfactory prior to purchase. No refunds or exchanges. It is the intent of WeeUsables (not a guarantee) to only offer non-recalled items, items in complete working condition, and that pass CPSC safety guidelines. Please click here for more information on CPSC safety guidelines.
For Consignors
What is consignment?
When someone else (such as a store) sells your items for you in exchange for a commission, it is called “consignment.”
How can I be a consignor?
Why is WeeUsables better for me as a consignor than a yard sale?
First, Weeusable consignors do not have to advertise, setup, negotiate with customers or dismantle their sale. Your only responsibilities as a consignor are to price, hang, and deliver your items to the appropriate location on our sales floor! Our consignors typically earn a higher price for their items than they would at a yard sale since our prices are non-negotiable. Additionally, a consignment event like ours draws a broad base of targeted buyers (parents, mom-to-be, and grandparents), not the casual browser you may find at a yard sale.
Why is WeeUsables better for me as a consignor than a consignment store?
At Weesuables, you retain the power to set your own prices and can earn a significantly higher percentage than you might from a brick-and-mortar store. Also, you are able to pick up remaining items at the conclusion of our sale. As a final option, unsold items not picked up are donated to charity and may be used by you as a tax deduction!
What items can be sold at WeeUsables?
Anything that is for babies, children, or moms-to-be! Consignors have a 100-hanging-piece limit and a few other limits (see What to Sell page for details on limits).
What if I have more pieces than the limits allow?
Consignors have two options in this situation: contact us to purchase an additional slot for $12.50 (using the same consignor #), OR drop off more items for FREE at the second drop off day (Lancaster only). Click here to learn more about these options.
When do I need to register to sell items?
The cutoff for consignor registrations is one week before the start of a sale OR when all the consignor slots are filled. Check the Locations page for the specific sale you are interested in to see if all the slots are filled, but don’t worry—we have a list to call in case of consignor cancellations (click here to request your name to be added). Also, don’t forget, WeeUsables is a bi-annual event so another opportunity is just around the corner!
How does a consignor prepare for the sale?
Please check on the Pricing Your Items and Tagging Your Items pages for detailed instructions. Also, when you drop off your items during the posted consignor drop off times, you will need to place them at the appropriate locations on the sales floor and sign a waiver before leaving. See Getting Paid for more information on showing-you-the-money.
After the sale, unsold items may be picked up by the consignor. Any items left beyond that time become the property of WeeUsables. We will gladly distribute the unsold items to local charities to benefit our community!
Can I reuse my consignor number from the last sale?
Yes, consignors who participate in consecutive sales may keep the same consignor number. However, returning consignors must still register so we know you are coming!
Why should I volunteer at the sale?
Since we need lots of volunteers to help run our sale, we offer lots of exciting benefits for getting involved. Click here for more information.
