For Buyers

What can I purchase at WeeUsables?

Our sales offer a unique variety of gently used maternity, baby, and children’s merchandise including clothes (preemie to kids size 20), toys, strollers, bikes, books, bouncy seats, children’s games, DVDs, nursery items, furniture and much more! Our What to Sell page has a complete list of acceptable and unacceptable items.

Why is WeeUsables better for me than a yard sale?

First, we offer better quality and a wider variety of goods.  Also, we ensure the safety of our shoppers thanks to our restrictions on acceptable items and all consignors must sign a waiver they have checked the Consumer Products Safety Commission recall list.  Our event is centralized in one location, so there’s less walking or driving for you. Plus, our sale is held indoors, rain or shine … and not at 5AM!

WeeUsables is not responsible for the misuse of items, any item damages, injuries sustained at the sale event, or injuries from items purchased at the event. All sales are final. It is the buyer’s responsibility to check that all toys and clothing items are satisfactory prior to purchase. No refunds or exchanges. It is the intent of WeeUsables (not a guarantee) to only offer non-recalled items, items in complete working condition, and that pass CPSC safety guidelines. For Consignors

What is consignment?

When an individual or business sells items for you in exchange for a commission, it is called “consignment.”

How can I be a consignor?

Click here to register.   ***FREE registration for BRAND NEW consignors.  The fee will be refunded in your consignor earnings after the sale and applies to your 1st sale, either (not both) location. ***

Why is WeeUsables better than a yard sale?

First, WeeUsables consignors do not have to advertise, setup, negotiate with customers or dismantle their sale. Your only responsibilities as a consignor are to gather, price, hang, and then put your items on the sales floor. Our consignors typically earn a higher price for their items than they would at a yard sale since the prices at the sale are non-negotiable. Additionally, a consignment event like ours draws thousands of shoppers (parents, mom-to-be, and grandparents), not the casual browser you may find at a yard sale.

Why is WeeUsables better than a consignment store?

At WeesUables, you retain the power to set your own prices and can earn a significantly higher percentage than you might from a traditional consignment store. Also, you are able to pick up remaining items at the conclusion of our sale. As a final option, unsold items not picked up are donated to charity and may be used by you as a tax deduction!

What items can be sold at WeeUsables?

Each WeeUsables event offers a unique variety of new and gently used maternity, baby, and children’s merchandise including clothes (preemie to kids size 20), toys, strollers, bikes, books, bouncy seats, children’s games, DVDs, nursery items, furniture and much more.   Please review the What to Sell page for a complete list of acceptable and unacceptable items.   At the Lancaster location only, REGULAR & RESTOCKING consignors have a 100 item limit on HANGING children’s clothing and a 20 item limit on HANGING maternity clothing.   *** SPRING ’18 Unlimited restocking BOYS clothing will be accepted in Lancaster. *** See the What to Sell page for futher details.  Currently, the York location does not have any clothing limits.

What is the minimum number of items I must consign at an event?

We ask all regular and restocking consignors to bring a minimum of 25 items to the sale.  Equipment ONLY consignors must consignor a minimum of 10 items.  Any consignors with less than the minimum items in their inventory, may be deleted as a participating consignor.

What if I am regular or restocking consignor in Lancaster and have more than 100 items of HANGING children’s clothing or 20 items of HANGING maternity clothing?

First, we ask that you select your best 100 HANGING children’s items and 20 HANGING maternity items to sell at the Lancaster WeeUsables event.  However, if you have more than 100 HANGING children’s/20 HANGING maternity items, regular & restocking consignors may purchase additional consignor spots ($15 for regular spots and $12.50 for restocking spots) until all the extra spots have been filled.  You will not need an additional consignor number but will need need to contact us to check for availability.  First-come, first-serve.   *** SPRING ’18- Unlimited restocking BOYS clothing will be accepted in Lancaster. ***  Click here to learn more.

When do I need to register to sell items?

The cutoff for consignor registrations is one week before the start of a sale OR when all the consignor slots are filled, whichever comes first.  However, both locations typically fill MUCH earlier.  Check the Locations page to see if all the consignor spots have been filled.  If all the consignor spots are full, don’t worry, WeeUsables is a semi-annual event so another opportunity is just around the corner!

How does a consignor prepare for the sale?

Please check the Pricing Your Items and Tagging Your Items pages for detailed instructions.  Also, when you drop off your items during the posted consignor drop off times, you will need to place them at the appropriate locations on the sales floor and sign a waiver before leaving.  See Getting Paid for more information.

After the sale, unsold items may be picked up by the consignor during the designated consignor pickup time. ANY items left beyond then, become the property of WeeUsables, no matter if the item was marked Donate Yes or No.  We will gladly distribute all unsold items to local charities who benefit families in our community.

Can I reuse my consignor number from the last sale?

Yes, consignors who participate in consecutive sales may keep the same consignor number.  However, returning consignors are not automatically registered for the next event and must re-register each season.

What is a “restocking consignor”?

After all of the regular consignor spots have been filled, we begin taking registration of “restocking consignors.”  These consignors provide fresh merchandise to replenish the floor before and during the sale, which encourages shoppers to return to the sale multiple times.

Restocking consignors benefits are the same as “Regular” consignors-

  • Shop during the consignor pre-sale.
  • Drop off your items during the regular consignor drop off, and we will hold those items and refill the floor as space become available.
  • NO SEPARATE DROP OFF DAY FOR RESTOCKERS.
  • All restocking items will be on the sales floor no later than 4 pm on the 1st public sale day and may be sooner depending on the floor space.
  • Earn 65% of your sales or more by registering as a Wee Helper for 2 or more shifts during the event.
  • Lower consignor fee, $12.50 per spot, vs the regular consignor.
  • Pickup unsold items on Saturday afternoon or leave unsold items for the Stuff-a-Bag charity fundraiser.
  • 100 HANGING item limit on children’s clothing.  *** SPRING ’18- Unlimited restocking BOYS clothing will be accepted in Lancaster. ***
  • 20 HANGING item limit on maternity clothing.
  • NO additional limits.

What is an “EQUIPMENT ONLY CONSIGNOR”?

***NEW*** We will be registering this group in Lancaster and York, and refer to them as EQUIPMENT ONLY CONSIGNORS.  These consignors will only sell non-clothing items including but not limited to equipment, books and toys.   No hanging or bagged clothing will be accepted.  In Lancaster, these items brought to the restocking area at consignor drop off and used to replenish the sales floor.  The consignor registration fee is the same as a regular consignor but it will be refunded in your consignor earnings after the event.

Why should I be a WeeHelper at the sale?

Since we need lots of help to run the event, please consider signing up to be a WeeHelper at the event.  Being a WeeHelper is optional, however our consignors have the ability to earn up to 80% of their sales for helping at an event.  Click here for more information.
